“Schedule the presidential elections of the Russian Federation for March 17, 2024. This resolution comes into force on the day of its official publication,” says the resolution calling the presidential elections, the text of which is available to RIA Novosti.

From the moment the resolution comes into force – that is, from the day of official publication – the “start of the election campaign” is actually given, Poletaev emphasized.

The decision on holding multi-day voting in the presidential election is made by the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, the senator said.

Poletaev noted that a holiday is not declared on election day.
