Stress is the body’s response to a variety of stimuli, including emotions, temperature changes and infections. It plays an important role in a person’s life, contributing to his physical and emotional development.

However, scientists have found that stress can lead to a dull sense of danger and a slower response to stimuli. Sports, according to a study by scientists from the University of Basel, reduces the harmful effects of stress, especially during psychosocial stress at work. Regular exercise makes the body more resistant to external influences and reduces the risk of neurotic disorders and problems with the cardiovascular system.

Professor Marcus Gerber highlights the value of research demonstrating the relationship between physiological state and psychosomatic disorders. Lack of physical fitness, he says, can increase health risks, including increased “bad” cholesterol in stressful situations, JustSport reports.

Other studies also support the positive impact of physical activity on a person’s ability to cope with stress and maintain mental health.
