Tangier Med.. Aborting an international smuggling operation of a shipment consisting of three tons and 255 kilograms of “Shera”

Yesterday, Sunday, National Security personnel, in cooperation with customs services operating in the Tangier Med port, were able to abort an international smuggling operation of a shipment consisting of three tons and 255 kilograms of sheets of the drug “Shera.”

A report from the General Directorate of National Security explained that border control operations and careful inspections resulted in the seizure of this shipment of drugs carefully hidden inside the trailer of a truck for international transport of goods, which was transporting a shipment of fish and preparing to depart on a sea cruise heading towards one of the European ports, in addition to the arrest of a driver. The truck, of Moroccan nationality, is 32 years old.

The same source indicated that the suspect has been kept under theoretical guard, subject to judicial investigation conducted by the Judicial Police Squad in Tangier Med Port under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, to identify all local and international extensions of this criminal activity, as well as to arrest all those involved in committing it.

He highlighted that this security operation falls within the context of the intensive efforts made by the interests of the General Directorate of National Security to combat international drug smuggling networks.
