Although this cake requires a little more time and patience than a regular one, since it consists of two different types of dough – red and light with hearts, it is worth the effort. Surprise your loved ones and enjoy this moment by creating a magical treat!
Ingredients for red dough:
– 100 g sweet butter,
– 100 g sugar,
– 1 sachet of vanilla sugar (10 g),
– 4 eggs,
– 300 g flour,
– 1 teaspoon baking powder,
– a few drops of red food coloring,
– 100 ml of milk.
Ingredients for light dough:
– 100 g sweet butter,
– 100 g sugar,
– 1 sachet of vanilla sugar (10 g),
– 4 eggs,
– 300 g flour,
– 1 teaspoon baking powder,
– 100 ml of milk.
Ingredients for chocolate icing:
– 5 tablespoons of milk,
– 5 tablespoons of sugar,
– 3 tablespoons cocoa powder,
– 50 g sweet butter.
Preparation:
- Cream soft butter, sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, continuing to beat.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour with baking powder and a little salt. Alternately add the flour and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the flour, and mix well.
- Add a few drops of red food coloring and mix well to create a vibrant red color.
- Grease a baking pan with oil and pour the red batter into it.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 160 degrees for about one hour.
- Leave the cake to cool. Cut it into thick slices and cut out hearts using a heart cutter. Use hearts as decoration.
- Prepare a second light dough following the same steps but without adding the red food coloring.
- Place a small amount of light dough into the bottom of the baking dish. Distribute the cut out hearts evenly over the dough.
- Fill the mold with light dough, without filling it to the top, and level the surface.
- Continue baking the heart cake in a preheated oven at 160 degrees for about 50-60 minutes, or until a wooden skewer comes out clean.
- Leave the cake to cool for about 15 minutes, then carefully remove from the pan and cool completely.
- If desired, make chocolate frosting by combining milk and sugar in a small saucepan. Gradually add cocoa powder, stirring thoroughly, and bring the mixture to a boil. Remove from heat and add butter, stir until the glaze is smooth and glossy.
- Frost the cooled cake with chocolate frosting and sprinkle with red batter crumbs for extra decoration.
- Finally, cut the heart cupcake into pieces and enjoy this sweet surprise with your loved ones!
Bon appetit and happy Valentine’s Day!
