A 35-year-old woman who sold non-existent MTPL policies to car owners will be tried in Rostov, ASN reports.

Anna (name changed) took advantage of the fact that she once worked in Rostov-on-Don as an insurance agent for issuing civil auto liability policies. When she quit, former clients continued to call the woman directly to renew their auto license, which was about to expire. As the car owners said, it was recorded in their phone as “Anna-insurance.” The ex-agent issued them compulsory motor liability insurance, took the money, but then simply canceled the policies as erroneous.

“I no longer receive receptions in that pavilion. I work in another. But it will be inconvenient for you to travel from one end of Rostov to the other. I still have your data. And if they have not changed, you can simply transfer money to my card. Your policy will cost 9 thousand rubles,” quotes the words Anna a KamAZ driver who became one of the victims of the scam.

The entrepreneur said that after transferring the money, he received a PDF file with a new policy form. The deception was revealed when, some time later, his KamAZ was stopped by traffic police officers to check documents. It was then that it turned out that the OSAGO policy presented by the driver was not in the RSA database.

In total this way Anna deceived 9 owners of trucks and cars.

As Komsomolskaya Pravda was told by the prosecutor’s office of the Zheleznodorozhny district of Rostov, a criminal case has been opened against the woman under the article “Fraud.” The former insurance agent faces up to two years in prison. She admitted her guilt and explained her action by having loans and a difficult financial situation, the department added.

Previously, Russian car owners toldthat what irritates them most on the road are inappropriate drivers and traffic jams.
