Al Hoceima Festival activities begin, honoring Mohamed El Jem and Rachid El Ouali – Day 24

The opening ceremony of the International Film Festival in Al Hoceima, in its third edition, which began on Saturday evening, witnessed the honoring of the Moroccan comedian Mohamed El Jem, the actor and director Rachid El Wali, along with the Turkish actress Cetinay Sawyer, who Moroccans know through dramatic works, most notably the series “The Right.”

The Turkish actress caught the attention of the public and social media activists with her distinctive appearance, as she was keen to attend in a Moroccan caftan, where she then expressed her happiness at visiting Morocco, and invited her colleagues to visit the Kingdom as soon as possible.

It is expected that 24 films from various countries, such as Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, France, Italy, Japan and America, will participate in the activities of the third session of the Al Hoceima International Film Festival, organized during the period between the 18th and 22nd of this month of November.

This year’s edition will host Egyptian cinema as a pioneering cinema in Africa and the Arab world, with the presence of a number of prominent Egyptian filmmakers, including Intisar and Bassem Samra, who will be honored at the closing ceremony.

The demonstration will witness the screening of a variety of Egyptian cinematic films, such as “Photocopy” by director Tamer Ashar, “Mawlana” by Magdy Ahmed Ali, “When We Are Born” by Tamer Ezzat, “Asham” by Maggie Morgan, and “Hodges and Marj” by Nadine Khan.

As for the feature film competition, “Oasis of Frozen Waters” by director Raouf Al-Sabahi from Morocco, “At a Crossroads” by Lebanese director Lara Saba from “The Sea of ​​Diamonds” by director Saif Youssef from Egypt, and “Shihana” by director Khaled Al-Hajar will compete. from Saudi Arabia. “Explosions” by Fania Berani-Vigne from France, “Mayonaka” by Robert Capria (Japan/America), the French film “Traces” by director Dipravka Terec, and “Sheep May Graze Safely” by director Papi Cino from Italy.

The festival’s official page, via the photo and video exchange platform “Instagram,” wrote a blog post that it attached to the official poster for hosting the artist El-Jem, in which it said: “We are proud to invite you to attend the Al-Hoceima Film Festival, as we are pleased to announce our hosting of the wonderful Moroccan artist Mohamed El-Jem.”
