An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred off the coast of Indonesia, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center reports.

TASS provides the relevant information with reference to the department. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 414 kilometers southwest of the city of Banda Aceh in Sumatra, where 250 thousand people live. The source was located at a depth of 10 km.

There were no casualties or damage. Tsunami does not threaten the region.

Previously we reported that earthquakes of magnitude 4.7 and 5.2 occurred in Turkey. The epicenter of the tremors is located 62 km northwest of the city of Adiyaman.
