According to information obtained by “Al-Youm 24”, among the six detainees in Safi, accused in the case of international drug trafficking, there is an excellent police officer who works in one of the city’s security departments, and a gendarme with the rank of judan who works in its sea port.
On Saturday evening, the National Judicial Police Division and the security services in the city of Safi, in coordination with the interests of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, aborted an international smuggling operation of a large shipment of drugs inside a large car, and seized three other light cars.
Six people between the ages of 33 and 48, including two public force employees, a security policeman and a gendarmerie, were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the international smuggling of this shipment of drugs.
A report from the General Directorate of National Security issued yesterday, Sunday, stated that the seized drug shipment “weighs two tons and 100 kilograms of Shera.” The operation enabled the seizure of 60 packages intended for international smuggling via maritime routes, packed on a utility vehicle numbered in Morocco, which were seized immediately after they entered the port of Safi.
The six detainees were kept under theoretical guard, subject to judicial investigation conducted by the National Judicial Police Division under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, in order to identify all local and international extensions of this criminal activity, as well as to arrest all those involved in committing it.
