Last night, Sunday, civil prevention personnel recovered the body of the 11-year-old child, who had disappeared under mysterious circumstances, from the water canal at the level of the Tanfarda roundabout in the Beni Ayat community in the Azilal province.

According to “Al-Youm 24” sources, the child studying in the fifth grade of primary school had left and did not return to his home, leaving his bicycle, which made his family begin searching for him after informing the local authorities and members of the Royal Gendarmerie in Beni Ayat.

The same sources added that the residents of the roundabout were surprised before sunset yesterday, Sunday, by the appearance of the body on the surface of the waters of the main canal, which precipitated the alert of members of the Royal Gendarmerie and local authorities.

The deceased’s body was transferred to the mortuary at the regional hospital in Beni Mellal for a medical autopsy, while the competent public prosecutor ordered the opening of an investigation into the circumstances of the child’s death.
