From bunch to bucket: Spar Orbán escaped in vain, but now he can stand trial

Minister of National Economy Márton Nagy also joined the Spar debate.

The minister spoke in connection with the János Lázár v. Spar dispute that arose last week:

“I dealt with the issue of SPAR. I’ve said it before: I condemn the company’s statements, which will have consequences”

The Minister of National Economy suggested that with such a loss, the company should consider leaving Hungary, and further stated:

“I called the head of SPAR last week and told him that every statement has consequences and he immediately backed up what he said.”

Although neither Lázár, Viktor Orbán, nor Márton Nagy explained what consequences Spar can expect, Világgazdaság writes:

the Hungarian government takes the case to court due to defamation.
