Macron does not want the Crocus attack to be used against Ukraine

The French President expressed the opinion that using a terrorist attack in the Moscow region against Ukraine would be counterproductive

French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his opinion on the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall in the Moscow region, emphasizing that he would not like to see how this incident was used against Ukraine.

He called for avoidance of any manipulation and distortion of facts, noting the importance of being demanding and effective in responding to such events. Macron expressed hope that Russia will act in the same spirit. The head of the French state also noted that using this context to turn it against Ukraine would be cynical and counterproductive for Russia and the safety of its citizens.

He did not specify what he meant by “security of citizens” of the Russian Federation. These comments were made during his visit to French Guiana and were broadcast on the official Elysee Palace YouTube channel.

In addition, Macron reiterated his solidarity with the Russian people in light of the terrorist attack in Krasnogorsk.
