Mauritanian refereeing the Wydad Casablanca match against ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast – Day 24

The Referees Committee of the Confederation of African Football decided on the name of the Mauritanian referee, Bouh Abdel Aziz, to lead the match between Wydad Athletic Club and Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas, for the sixth round of the CAF Champions League group stage.

The Mauritanian referee, Bouh Abdel Aziz, will assist in leading the aforementioned match between Wydad Athletic Club ASEC Mimosa, with both his compatriot Hami Eddine Diba as first assistant and Youssef Mohamed Mahmoud as second assistant, with their compatriot Moussa Dio as fourth referee.

Wydad Athletic Club had failed to achieve victory, following a 1-0 defeat by ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast, in the match that took place on the second Saturday of December 2023, on the field of Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny, for the second round of the CAF Champions League group stage.

Wydad Athletic Club needs to defeat Botswana’s Gwaninig Galaxy and Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosas, while waiting for one of them to be defeated in the other matches, if it wants to qualify for the quarter-finals in Group Two, after losing three matches and winning one, during the group stage.

Wydad Sports Club currently occupies fourth “last” place with three points, in a second group led by ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast with ten points, Simba of Tanzania is in second place with five points, and Guaneng Galaxy of Botswana is in third place with four points.
