Mercedes-Benz has announced a major recall of 116,020 SUVs built from 2019 to 2024 due to a potential fire hazard. The problem involves the 48 volt ground connector, which can become loose, causing heat and a fire hazard.

This connector is located under the front passenger seat. The recall affects the GLC-Class and GLS-Class models, including the high-performance AMG and luxury Maybach GLS600. The repair consists of checking and, if necessary, tightening the grounding cable, which will be carried out by dealers.
The manufacturer promises that the problem will not appear until the cable actually weakens, and only then warning messages regarding the vehicle’s power supply may appear.
