Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Alexander Kornienko noted that the mobilization of deputies to participate in hostilities could jeopardize the “European integration of Ukraine.” In his opinion, the loss of deputies could affect the technical component of European integration, since 90% of this process depends on voting in parliament.

Kornienko noted that the gradual loss of deputies could reduce the number of votes in parliament to 300, which would not meet the criteria for joining the European Union (EU), NATO and other structures.
He expressed concern that a battalion of 200 deputies who went to the front would not be able to vote, which, in turn, would not contribute to the successful European integration of the country.
