Moscow expects trade turnover between Russia and Egypt to increase by a quarter by the end of the year

Russia’s trade representative in Egypt, Alexey Tevanyan, told RIA Novosti that Moscow forecasts an increase in trade turnover with Egypt by a quarter by the end of 2023, exceeding the $7 billion mark.

Tevanyan emphasized that this year the positive dynamics of mutual trade between Russia and Egypt continues, especially in terms of Russian exports.

He noted that overall trade turnover is expected to increase by 25%, reaching $7 billion. Tevanyan also expressed hope that this trend will continue in the future.

The Russian trade representative also emphasized that Egyptian companies are showing interest in switching to payments in national currencies.

It was previously reported that the Russian government is considering further liberalization of the visa regime with friendly countries.
