Nationalist Alexander Potkin put on the wanted list

In 2016, Potkin was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison in the case of extremism and legalization of stolen funds from BAT Bank, but later the sentence in the case of extremism was reduced to 3.5 years. According to the claim of BTA Bank, it was obliged to pay almost 5 billion rubles. He filed a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) for 15 months of detention in a pre-trial detention center, indicating the unfoundedness of this measure within the framework of the charges brought under Art. 174 of the Criminal Code (money laundering). Potkin refused a settlement agreement with the Russian authorities. The ECHR ordered him to pay compensation in the amount of €2.5 thousand. The deadline in the extremism case expired in April 2018.
