China in pursuit of world leadership: the country is increasing oil and gas production

According to the State Statistics Administration (SSA) of China, in January-February of this year the country increased its oil production.

The total volume of oil produced during this period reached 35.11 million tons, which is 2.9% more than last year. There is also an increase in oil imports – during this period China imported 88.31 million tons of petroleum products, which exceeds last year’s figures by 5.1%.
According to the State Statistics Service, natural gas production in China has also increased. In January-February this year, 41.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, which is an increase of 5.9% compared to the previous year.
At the same time, the country’s coal production decreased by 4.2% compared to last year, reaching 710 million tons during the period. However, it is worth noting that coal imports to China increased by 22.9%, amounting to 74.52 million tons during this period.
Data on oil and natural gas production indicate positive dynamics in the energy market in China.
