The Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) supported the idea of ​​insuring funds stored in the electronic wallets of Russians, Izvestia reports.

On Saturday, Chairman of the Central Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina said at a press conference that the Central Bank is considering possible options for insuring electronic wallets. In particular, it is proposed to introduce protection for wallets that have passed the identification procedure, as well as to establish a total limit of insurance compensation in the amount of 1.4 million rubles, she clarified.

“The agency confirms its support and readiness to implement the initiative to insure finances on electronic wallets within its competence,” the ASB commented on her words.
