Pediatric endocrinologist “SM-Clinic” Daria Khaikina believes that it is better not to buy ready-made ones for children sweet giftsand collect them yourself, choosing the healthiest and safest sweets.

It is advisable to choose items that contain as many useful ingredients as possible and as little sugar as possible, the doctor says.

“For example, you can include dark chocolate with a high content of cocoa, nuts, dried fruits, honey and cereals,” Khaikina said in an interview with Izvestia.

Don’t be overzealous with the size of a sweet gift for children, the expert added. For children 3-6 years old, 150-200 grams of New Year’s treats will be enough, and older children, 7-12 years old, can be given sets weighing 250-300 grams.

If a sweet gift is being given to very young children, you need to make sure that there are no small parts in it.

In addition, it is necessary to know whether the child for whom the New Year’s set is being chosen has allergies, Khaikina added.
