Vice Speaker of the State Duma and presidential candidate from the New People party Vladislav Davankov introduced into the lower house a bill providing for punishment up to deportation for foreign citizens and stateless persons for harassment of Russians, RIA Novosti reports.

“We constantly receive complaints about harassment from migrants. This happens especially often in the warm season, when girls wear revealing clothes. In some areas, people are afraid to go out – both children and adults. Those who give up and do not comply with decency standards are punished. needs to be deported. In Russia, such behavior is unacceptable,” Davankov emphasized.

Today, this offense is punishable by an administrative fine of 4 to 5 thousand rubles. The leader of New People asks to add to this article a clause on punishment for harassment of Russian citizens.

Earlier, in October last year, the government gave a negative review of this initiative, emphasizing that courts, when considering cases of violation of the stay regime by foreigners leading to expulsion, should be able to take into account circumstances “that allow them to properly assess the proportionality of its consequences to the goals of introducing this administrative measure.” responsibility.”

However, the Deputy Speaker of the State Duma still submitted the bill to the lower house of parliament. According to representatives of the New People party, the project is designed to ensure the safety of Russians and reduce social tension.
