Engineers from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China, have developed a toilet with a unique, super-slippery surface that allows for efficient flushing without lag or marks.

The developed toilet is an improved version of the sanitary ware with a unique hydrophobic surface manufactured using selective laser sintering 3D printing. The special porous surface structure is created from a mixture of plastic and hydrophobic materials, providing high wear resistance and effective rinsing.

In tests including silicone oil, dirty water, milk, yoghurt, honey and starch-based gel, the toilet was highly effective, remaining clean even after contact with sticky substances.
