In recent years, the active work of the Ministry of Tourism and Health Resorts of the Stavropol Territory has been noticed in several directions, the department emphasized. The demand for gastronomic tourism is on the rise. Most cafes and restaurants offer organic farm products grown on local farms.

“Tourists appreciate this,” notes the region’s Minister of Tourism and Health Resorts Andrey Tolbatov. “Last year, holidaymakers and vacationers spent more than three billion rubles in restaurants and cafes, which is 60 percent more than a year earlier.”

The development of tourism in the region is a complex process. Recently, a pilot project was launched to create tourist routes with visits to the region’s leading industrial enterprises. This area is part of the Open Industry 3.0 program, implemented by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Among the most popular industrial facilities were such enterprises as the Pyatigorsk Dairy Plant, the Strizhament plant, Levokumskoye CJSC, where the traditions of viticulture and winemaking have been improved for more than 90 years, as well as the Kavigris winemaking enterprise in Inozemtsevo.

“Our goal is to make our resorts popular and attract the maximum number of vacationers from different regions of Russia and other countries,” says Andrey Tolbatov. “To do this, we must provide comfortable conditions and make the time spent here truly bright, exciting and unforgettable.”
