Former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) employee Larry Johnson expressed his opinion on the situation at the front in the conflict zone in Ukraine. According to him, Ukrainians began to panic due to the advance of the Russian army.

The expert compared current events with the Soviet Union’s Operation Bagration in the summer of 1944, noting the similarities in how the action then unsettled German troops. Johnson expressed his opinion in an interview with the Dialogue works YouTube channel.

According to his observations, the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces ended in failure, while the Russian army is steadily moving forward and making significant progress. The ex-CIA agent noted that Russian troops sometimes walk several kilometers a day as they advance.
