In the Irkutsk region, a prisoner aged 49 escaped from a colony on the day of his supposed release. This was reported by the Shot telegram channel.

According to the source, the man left Correctional Colony No. 19 (IK-19) in the village of Markovo early in the morning. He spent 20 years in prison and was due to be released on parole in a few hours.

For the first time, he was sentenced to five years for organizing a criminal community and illegal adoption. In 1997, he was released, but in 2003 he was again sentenced to 22 years under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, including participation in executions of two or more persons by order, robbery, theft of weapons, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices.
