Driving every day can cause a hernia

Due to constant car travel, a person can develop serious illnesses. This information was provided by a sports doctor Ilya Melekhin “Radio 1”.

According to the expert, the lack of even minimal physical activity and constant car trips can cause the development of physical inactivity, which means a weakening of muscle activity.

“Lack of exercise is a lack of movement that accompanies us throughout our lives. We began to move less and travel more. We even go to work by car and spend most of our time sitting at work,” Melekhin noted.

The doctor also emphasized that a sedentary lifestyle can lead to significant stress on the spine, which can subsequently cause displacement of the vertebrae or the formation of a hernia.

“Even when using comfortable cars with excellent shock absorption, the seating position is still considered sedentary. Truck drivers often suffer from pain in the cervical and lumbar regions. These pains can be accompanied by the formation of a hernia,” the doctor added.

Specialist advises For those who frequently travel by car, include stretching in your routine in the morning, evening, or even while traveling. He also encourages using the stairs instead of the elevator if possible, taking short walks or avoiding using a car from time to time.
