The delegation explained, in its news note on the economic situation during the third quarter of 2023, that this improvement is due to an increase in non-agricultural activities by 2.7 percent instead of 3.3 percent a year before, and agricultural activities by 5.7 percent.

In detail, the delegation highlighted that the added value of the primary sector in volume, corrected for seasonal changes, rose by 8.9 percent in the third quarter of 2023 after a decrease of 13.8 percent during the same period in 2022, noting that this was due to The agricultural sector activities increased by 5.7 percent instead of a decrease of 13.1 percent a year before, and marine fishing activities increased by 80.7 percent instead of a decrease of 25.6 percent. In contrast, the added value of the secondary sector recorded an increase of 0.5 percent instead of a decrease of 1.1 percent during the third quarter of last year, as a result of an increase in the added value of electricity and water activities by 2.1 percent instead of a decrease of 3.5 in percent, manufacturing industries by 1.1 percent instead of 2 percent, construction and public works by 0.5 percent instead of a decrease of 5.1 percent, and extractive industries activities decreased by 3.7 percent instead of a decrease of 10.1 percent. percent.

For its part, the value added of the tertiary sector recorded a slowdown in its growth rate, moving from 5.9 percent during the same quarter of last year to 3.1 percent during this quarter. It was characterized by a slowdown in hotel and restaurant activities to 11.2 percent instead of 57.6 percent, education, health and social work services to 3.5 percent instead of 4.9 percent, and research and development and services provided to enterprises to 3.2 percent instead of 6 percent. percent, services provided by public administrations and social security to 3 percent instead of 4.2 percent, financial and insurance services to 2.2 percent instead of 9 percent, and transportation and storage to 1.6 percent instead of 2.1 percent, and media and communication to 0.3 percent instead of 3.9 percent. In these circumstances, and taking into account the increase in the tax on products net of subsidies by 0.7 percent instead of 4.8 percent, the gross domestic product in volume recorded an increase of 2.8 percent instead of 1.7 percent during the third quarter of last year.
