People with high IQs tend to be sloppy and sleep late – Psychology Today

A study conducted by American scientists found that people with high levels of intelligence show some peculiarities in their habits. These included sloppiness and the habit of going to bed late. These conclusions were made by specialists from the University of Minnesota and published in the journal Psychology Today (PT).

Observations have shown that an intelligent person tends to have a messy room. Psychologist Kathleen Vogs believes that it is more important for them to pay attention to more meaningful activities.

In addition, the study also found that people with high intelligence are more likely to stay up late. Many great personalities were committed to the nocturnal lifestyle. Famous examples of such “owls” include Charles Darwin, Winston Churchill and Elvis Presley.

“Thus, the hypothesis predicts that more intelligent people are more likely to be nocturnal than less intelligent people,” the authors of the study note.

An interesting observation is that people with high intelligence can often hear obscene expressions. This is explained by their greater honesty, since in moments of irritation and negative emotions they prefer to use direct words to express their feelings. In addition, people with developed intelligence usually have a richer vocabulary and higher level of rhetorical skills.
