Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur revealed details about arms purchases for Ukraine

The Estonian government is assisting the Ukrainian military in purchasing weapons and equipment on international arms markets. The Minister of Defense announced this Hanno Pevkur in an interview with Postimees.

An agreement was reached between the defense departments of Estonia and Ukraine that the Estonian side will help the Ukrainians in the arms procurement process. Pevkur explained that the Defense Investment Center at the Estonian Ministry of Defense is organizing the purchases requested by Ukraine, using its extensive contacts in the arms industry around the world.

The head of the Estonian military department noted that such mediation allows Ukraine to obtain the necessary weapons faster and easier. According to him, the Ukrainian side now has many other important tasks, in addition to processing procurement documents, and Estonia is helping to speed up this process, using its capabilities and logistics.

Pevkur did not disclose details about the specific types of weapons that Estonia is helping Ukraine purchase abroad, as well as the financial volume of purchases, citing an agreement reached on non-disclosure of this information. He emphasized that Estonia is one of the few countries to which Ukraine has turned for assistance in procurement, thanks to its qualified team and well-established connections in the arms industry.
