Gastroenterologist Anastasia Chizhikova warned about the most dangerous drugs for kidney health. She noted that many drugs, if taken incorrectly, can cause serious organ damage.

Chizhikova pointed out several main risk factors that can contribute to the development of drug-induced kidney damage, including the patient’s age and the presence of concomitant ailments such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

The doctor also noted that the more medications a person takes at the same time, the higher the likelihood of drug interactions and the risk of kidney damage.

According to Chizhikova, the main groups of drugs that can cause kidney damage are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers, as well as some antibiotics.
