Employees of the Border Police Department in Basarabeaschi detained 11 citizens of Ukraine who illegally crossed the border and were part of an organized group. According to law enforcement agencies, one of the detainees, a 24-year-old man, is suspected of acting as a guide for this illegal group, reports EADaily.

The organizers of this illegal “excursion” planned to receive more than 40 thousand euros for their services.

“Last week, in the course of enhanced measures to prevent and suppress illegal migration at the state border, a mobile patrol detected several persons crossing the border between Basarabyask (Moldova) and Serpnevo (Ukraine). Using night vision, border guards monitored the actions of these persons during illegal crossing Moldovan-Ukrainian border and identified 11 Ukrainian citizens,” the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova reported.
